Layman has been available for half a year in portage now. The latest version 1.0.6 fixed some important bugs and has been in the tree for about four weeks now. So we would like to request stabilization of the package. Thanks!

Yes, /usr/portage/local is intentional. It allows to use layman also on nfs shared portage trees. Category added. Thanks for the note!

Stable on amd64
Added 1.0.7 as unstable to the tree. 1.0.7 dropped ~ia64 and ~sparc since I do not want to override the 1.0.6 version for these arches.
layman-1.0.6 stable on sparc.
