Description Tim Cera 2006-08-14 21:42:47 UTC
Made some minor edits to dev-python/numpy-0.9.8.ebuild to install the latest version.

Basically had to create a MY_P and MY_S because of the strange naming convention adopted by the numpy team.

Works on amd64.

there are problems with this and scipy when i tested beta1. so hopefully this fixes it.

also, the versino should be numpy-1.0_beta2.
Comment 3 Tim Cera 2006-08-15 19:49:59 UTC
It is not at all obvious that the 'b' stands for 'beta'. See http://www.scipy.org/ReleaseNotes/NumPy_1.0 for a description of all of their naming conventions _except_ why they used 'b'.
Comment 4 Tim Cera 2006-08-15 19:56:07 UTC
I apologize. The 'b' does indeed indicate beta. See last example on http://www.scipy.org/ReleaseNotes/NumPy_1.0

I've bumped numpy to 1.0_beta2 as it works with scipy 0.5.0, although with some weird warnings.
