media-libs/tiff-3.8.2-r2 installs files README, TODO, and VERSION both in /usr/share/doc/tiff-3.8.2 and in /usr/share/doc/tiff-3.8.3-r2.

I think a reasonable fix is to add to the econf:

--with-docdir=/usr/share/doc/${PF}

The last directory should be tiff-3.8.2-r2, of course. Sorry about the typo.

Any news about this issue, BTW?

finally fixed in media-libs/tiff-3.8.2-r3.
