Description:   Opened: 2006-07-31 13:53 0000
Hi,

I'm using a 2.6.17 kernel, but unionfs 1.1.4 does not compile with this kernel.
So I took the 1.1.4_r2 ebuild and did the following:
- renamed it to 1.3
- removed the patch for 1.1.3_r15
- added "utils/" in the "dosbin" line before unionctl, uniondbg, unionimap

After this, the package is compiled and merged properly. The unionfs module
works as expected. The only thing is that the support for Reiser4 is not
complete, the unified filesystem containing a reiser4-branch doesn't list de
dentries properly. But I believe that's a known bug in unionfs.

I wonder why unionfs 1.2 and 1.3 are not available in the current portage tree.

<fake reason> Well, basically because nobody requested :-) </fake reason>
The real answer is that I wanted the upstream devs stabilize the version
naming: as you can see from the home page, every release has to match its own
kernel version.

1.1.5, 1.2 and 1.3 in portage, with kernel version check
