Can we have a version of nss-mdns stablised for x86? I've been using this for a
while on an x86 stable box without any problems (0.9).

Thanks.

Please ensure that this is tested with avahi and howl. The latter will be
removed (hopefully) soon, but for the time being, please test against both.

yes, i have been using it with avahi and banshee (for iTunes shares), and on
the same network, and it is working fine with resolving .local domains.

liquidx@qoo ~ $ getent hosts mcbook.local
192.168.9.3 mcbook.local

with nss-mdns-0.8

hope that is a good datapoint for you.

just to add, mcbook is a mac, but i suppose if you have avahi running on
another linux box on your network, it will resolve it too. as per the README,
you need to change /etc/nsswitch.conf to use libnss_mdns.
