### Problem ### The wxwidgets plugin for VLC (both 8.4 and 8.5-r5) fails to load complaining about: [00000001] main vlc warning: cannot load module /usr/lib/vlc/gui/libwxwidgets_plugin.so' (/usr/lib/libcdio.so.5: version `CDIO_5' not found (required by /usr/lib/libvcdinfo.so.0)) ### My solution ### libvcdinfo.so.0 is from the 'vcdimager' program, which is marked stable at version 0.7.21 However; 0.7.21 requires a CDIO_5 which libcdio 0.77 (marked stable) does not provide. So, all these packages marked stable fail because libcdio does not provide the CDIO_5 version. Emerging the testing(unstable) version of vcdimager corrects these problems as it uses the new(stable) version of libcdio. Urm, this sounds like a little problem of versioning :/ Need to ask new stable for who has vlc stable.
