Starting with GTK+ 2.10.1, the Pango dependency has been dropped from 1.13.0 to 1.12.0. This is significant, as 1.13 is the unstable development branch, while 1.12 is the stable branch. This may be important to people that wish to keep a "stable" system. Yes, I know GTK 2.10.1 and it's dependencies are masked, but it is considered a stable release by the GTK+ developers.

Err, you just shouldn't mix package.masked ebuilds w/ stable dependencies...
What happens when GNOME 2.16 is released and GTK+ 2.10.1 is marked stable? It will pull in the unstable Pango dependency, which would end up being marked stable due to bad ebuild dependencies.
thanks, I have changed it.
