When zope is shutdown from within control panel (in zope) or any other way than init script, the zope init script wont restart zope and doesn't give a reason. the reason is there is a pid in zope-home/var/Z2.pid I'm reporting this because it confused me for a while but i'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature. Maybe when the init scripts fail to start zope for this reason they should issue a warning that zope is not starting because this pid file is there, and to remove it if zope isn't really running.
which version ?
2.6.0-r1
I'm not up to handling this one right now, but Mandrake's Zope initscript has a fairly impressive bit of scripting to handle the pid problem: http://cvs.mandrakesoft.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/SPECS/Zope/Zope-2.1.6-zope?rev=1.1&content-type=text/x-cvsweb-markup Tossing back to bug-wranglers to see if somebody has the time to fix this problem properly.
I believe I've resolved this problem in upcoming revision. Probably can see this in bug #13751 zope.initd script. I've had the flu since feb 2, so development has slowed way down.
Has the problem been fixed with the new revision in portage? zope-2.6.0-r2.ebuild
Hmm, was trying to change resolution TEST REQUEST. Sorry for the dups.
