Don't restrict bugs without any reason, please. Just leave the checkboxes alone.
Comment 3 Sasha 2006-07-27 01:06:52 UTC
When I try to install gnumeric, I get this error during execution of aclocal:

***** aclocal *****
aclocal: configure.in: 209: macro 'AM_GCONF_SOURCE_2' not found in library

And emerge stops thereafter.

So I have the same error... And I can't emerge gnumeric :(
Comment 4 Lane Phillips 2006-08-15 20:00:54 UTC
I have a workaround. I was having the same error, too. I searched for 'gconf' and found gnome-base/gconf, so I emerged it. After that I emerged gnumeric and it worked fine.

So I guess the fix for this bug is to add gnome-base/gconf as a dependency for app-office/gnumeric. I don't know how to do that.

Looking into /usr/portage/app-office/gnumeric/gnumeric-1.4.3-r3.ebuild, gconf is listed in the dependencies but only when USE flag 'gnome' is set. Hence a solution would be to add 'gnome' in your USE (or modify ebuild to have gconf dependency even if 'gnome' is not set)

Comment 6 Aron Griffis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-14 18:36:25 UTC
I moved the gconf dep out from under the USE=gnome conditional. This really sucks because AFAIK it's only necessary because of regenerating configure. But I suppose it's the best fix.
