Ethereal is vulnerable and has no devs to fix it. Wireshark is the fixed continuation. (bug 140856)
Created attachment 92296 [details, diff] wireshark.diff one very boring find and replace patch.
thanks for the bug report, Daniel. selinux-wireshark-20060720 is in the tree with small changes. you are free to move selinux-ethereal -> selinux-wireshark whenever you do the parent package move. I will mark selinux-wireshark stable in a few hours when the package should have landed on the mirrors.

Thanks for checking. I was assuming it wasn't perfect. > > you are free to move selinux-ethereal -> selinux-wireshark whenever you do the > parent package move. Thanks. I hadn't actually thought about it but it also makes sense. > I will mark selinux-wireshark stable in a few hours when the package should > have landed on the mirrors. Thankyou. Is matching wireshark in stable possible so I can add a USE=selinux RDEPEND on sec-policy/selinux-wireshark to net-analyzer/wireshark? wireshark-0.99.2.ebuild:KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 ~ia64 ppc ppc64 ~sparc ~x86"

Is matching wireshark in stable possible so I can add a USE=selinux > RDEPEND on sec-policy/selinux-wireshark to net-analyzer/wireshark? I just marked selinux-wireshark stable on all selinux arches, so you can add the RDEPEND and the IUSE on net-analyzer/wireshark. and I tested wireshark on x86 and it workedforme ;) cheers, peter
