Current stable version on x86 (4.2) fails to build with GCC-4.1 (bug #118858). 
Please stabilize =app-arch/rpm-4.2-r2 so we can get to work on getting GCC 4.1
into stable. -r2 should be the same as -r0, just with the gcc patch and some
DEPENDS fixes.

stable on x86, as it works and 4.1.1 stable fixes are the winner! ^.^;;

reopening as I didn't consider other archs...I wasn't thoughtful

marked stable on ppc64; however, we dont have a good working 4.1.1 yet.

Since some arches stablized 4.2.1 for previous rounds, did this patch get added
into the newer ebuilds?

sorry, this was meant for x86 only.

but, while i have your attention ;)  no, now that i've looked into it, it
doesn't look like rpm-4.2.1 has this fix.  it was in 4.2-r[12] and was
backported from 4.4.1.

if your arch has no interest in GCC 4.1 and find all your rpm-y needs
fulfilled, you can ignore this.

i've removed arches that don't have GCC 4.1 in testing or have requested to be
omitted (alpha,arm,ia64,sparc)

amd64 already has 4.2-r2 stable.

this patch should allow rpm-4.2.1 to build with GCC-4.1.1.

the alternative is to stablize 4.4.6.  that's a pretty big leap, and introduces
sqlite support.  there was a GCC patch for rpm-4.4.1 at one time but it seems
to gone missing.  i could probably dig it up if people want.
