Please reopen the bug.

Still doesn't work, and I don't want all the X dependencies, so I can't update to 0.9.9

Please backport this fix or stabilize 0.9.9. Current stable is broken.

simple fix
Comment 12 Tobias Kaminsky 2006-08-16 14:48:53 UTC
Thats no really fix, because then it wants to install all the X dependencies...

I run a server without X, but with Freevo and FB, therefore I don't need any X...

Isn't there any other solution?

libquicktime-0.9.7-no-gtk-fix.patch

in your overlay
- mkdir media-libs/libquicktime
- cp libquicktime-0.9.7.ebuild there
- cp files/libquicktime-0.9.7* to OVERLAY/media-libs/libquicktime/files
- cp this patch there as well
- Add the following after the last epatch line
if ! use gtk
then
  epatch "${FILESDIR}/${P}-no-gtk-fix.patch"
fi
- ebuild libquicktime-0.9.7.ebuild digest
- emerge libquicktime
- rejoice :-)

Great Work. Now is everything fine.

Any chance that this fix can be applied to the tree?
Comment 18 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2006-09-08 10:17:14 UTC
First: This bug and Bug #139421 seem to be duplicates.
Second: To me it looks like this package misses just some files under m4/ which can be used for rebuilding configure when the corresponding packages (for the optional support) are not installed.

Solution: Take all needed files:
* gtk-2.0.m4 from gtk+
* vorbis.m4 from libvorbis
and possibly some more (all which give error when not installed).
Make a tarball of it and unpack them in the ebuild to ${WORKDIR}/libquicktime-0.9.7/m4

zypher, if I see no reaction I commit this fix on 2006/10/23.
Comment 23 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2006-10-23 13:36:03 UTC
Created a tarball with the two missing files, and copied them to m4-subdirectory.
