Description:   Opened: 2006-07-02 18:15 0000
While trying to compile pitivi, it's dependencies seem to compile and install
just fine.
>>> Merging media-libs/gnonlin-0.10.4 to /
This is OK.

After compiling gnonlin, pitivi fails with this error.
configure: error: You need to install the gnonlin plugins and make sure
 they are in your $GST_PLUGIN_PATH.

pitivi compiles, and runs just fine using the CVS install method from the
pitivi.org website.

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.gnome.org:/cvs/gnome co -P pitivi
cd pitivi/
./autogen.sh
make
bin/pitivi

Pitivi also fails to compile: Cannot find gnonlin

------- Comment #4 From William 2006-07-18 01:56:48 0000 -------

Some Steps I made in 2 consoles that got pitivi Compiled

Before I made the steps included in the attachment i did this on another
console as root:

localhost ~ # export GST_PLUGIN_PATH="/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.8.11"
localhost ~ # $GST_PLUGIN_PATH
-su: /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.8.11: No existe el fichero o el directorio

I dont really know what I did in order to fix it but I did play with the
following commands:

equery f gnonlin
equery f gstreamer
export GST_PLUGIN_PATH="/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10"
export GST_PLUGIN_PATH="/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.8.11"
gst-xmlinspect-0.10

I hope this can help you

pitivi-0.10.1.ebuild

Here's a slightly modified ebuild that works for me (using gnome eclass)

Few updates:
- It's for 0.10.1
- New homepage
- License is LGPL not GPL

Your new ebuild compiles fine for me thanks.

But the video window is black. Any ideas?

OK, the black video was just from mpg's from saved from my Sony Camera.

------- Comment #8 From Hanno Boeck 2006-08-08 06:43:42 0000 -------
Chris, thanks for your updated ebuild, added, please test and re-open if this
bug still occurs.

------- Comment #9 From Chris Mayo 2006-08-13 05:05:05 0000 -------
With the new ebuild in the tree I get:

make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/pitivi-0.10.1/work/pitivi-0.10.1'
>>> Source compiled.

I do seem to need the:

src_compile() {
    addpredict "$(unset HOME; echo ~)/.gconf"
    addpredict "$(unset HOME; echo ~)/.gconfd"
    gnome2_src_compile
}
