It's one month in testing now. Big feature: Provides DVD-burning, so cdrecord-prodvd may become useless. One disadvantage: The joliet-unicode-patch does not apply and needed to be removed. Current situation: cdrtools-2.01-r1[0]: alpha mips cdrtools-2.01-r3[0]: ia64 m68k ppc64 cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha01-r2[0]: (M) cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha07[0]: ~alpha amd64 arm hppa ~ia64 ppc ~ppc-macos ~ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86 cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha10[0]: (M) ~alpha ~amd64 ~arm ~hppa ~ia64 ~ppc ~ppc-macos ~ppc64 ~s390 ~sh ~sparc ~x86 What I want in the first step: cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha10[0]: alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ~m68k ~mips ppc ppc-macos ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86 And later m68k and mips stable.

hppa and sparc stable.
Installed it in stable chroot x86, burned several isos from command line to CD and DVD (both Knoppix), all available modes (SAO, TAO) as user (member of group cdrom) and root. Experienced no problems (all booted normally). Have a better look next time, Raúl. mips isn't done yet. There is even no ~mips on cdrtools 2.01.01_alpha10.
mips and m68k, please add ~arch-keyword to cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha10 and make it stable afte the appropriate time. PS: We don't have any m68k@gentoo.org mail address. I'll just drop the m68k-keyword.
ping mips? Do you even have a machine with a CD-recorder attached?
(In reply to comment #11) > ping mips? Do you even have a machine with a CD-recorder attached? > To my knowledge, no. I certainly don't anyway. External scsi cd-recorders are frickin' expenseive.
Until recently, I did not have a SCSI CD burner that I could plug into any of my machines. That said, I now have a spare 50-pin SCSI CD burner that I can plug into a machine. My only issue... most of the machines our users would have, are sub-300MHz, with IP22/IP28 SCSI (SGI WD33C93) delivering extremely poor performance (About 2MB/sec on a good day). I'd be highly concirned about the likelihood of coasters on such machines at any decent speed. That said, I'll fire up the O2 tomorrow and see how it goes.
(In reply to comment #11) > ping mips? Do you even have a machine with a CD-recorder attached? > My octane has a external chassis that I've put a yahama 16x burner in. It works, in that I can use the mips bootable cd. I have also used it to make the mips bootable cd in the first place. I'll fire up octane tonight and see what I can do. K3b also works, but I haven't keyworded it yet.
Status?
I have no cd burner :( Unable to test.
mkisofs fails with the following error when trying to burn a DVD with K3B and alpha20 of cdrtools. Are you talking about mips? Otherwise this bug is about stabilising cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha10 and your problem has already been reported in bug #159320.
