Description Jason Draugluin Ritchie 2002-03-28 22:01:32 UTC
I installed clean from the build-x86-r17.iso and once everything was up and
running smoothly, I attempted to unmerge baselayout 1.6.x using:

emerge baselayout --unmerge --safe

It went about unmerging 1.6.x but stopped at "!found /dev/pts/.keep" with a few
lines of errors. I did "touch /dev/pts/.keep" and tried again. I got to "!
found /dev/shm/.keep" and it stopped again. This time I
couldn't "touch /dev/shm/.keep" so I mounted a tmpfs system there and touched.
The unmerge completed and I cleaned up my two hacks. Per install docs, I do
not have /dev/pts support in my kernel.

I do not have access to the detailed errors here at work. I will reproduce the
problem later today or tomorrow and post them here. My secondary reason for
posting this bug while it is on my mind is so I will remember.
