Hi, I read the ppc meeting log and saw you want to stabilize gcc 4.1. Here are the packages I have in package.keywords as a 'dependency' for gcc 4.1: =media-libs/musicbrainz-2.1.2 =media-libs/libmpeg3-1.5.2-r3 =app-office/kspread-1.4.2-r1 =app-office/kword-1.4.2-r7 =media-libs/libquicktime-0.9.7-r1 =app-cdr/cdrdao-1.2.1-r1 regards, markus
=dev-lang/swig-1.3.25
I needed to add those packages to package.keywords for GRP building: x11-wm/fluxbox =dev-lang/swig-1.3.25 sys-block/gparted app-cdr/cdrdao media-libs/libmpeg3 media-libs/libquicktime app-office/karbon app-office/kchart app-office/kexi app-office/kformula app-office/kivio app-office/koffice-data app-office/koffice-libs app-office/koshell app-office/kplato app-office/kpresenter app-office/krita app-office/kspread app-office/kugar app-office/kword app-text/libwpd OpenOffice still fails with gcc-4.1.1.
All done beside fluxbox.
From https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-3420837.html#3420837: sci-mathematics/scilab (may need more time to stabilise but work here) media-gfx/kst media-libs/openexr dev-util/xdelta
(In reply to comment #4) > sci-mathematics/scilab (may need more time to stabilise but work here) Not tested yet. > media-gfx/kst Bumped. > media-libs/openexr No version available which works with gcc-4.1.1 > dev-util/xdelta Bumped.
(In reply to comment #5) > (In reply to comment #4) > > media-libs/openexr > > No version available which works with gcc-4.1.1 > Well it works here (I just checked 1.2.2-r2). For some reasons the display program is not compiled because fltk cannot be found at configuration time - it is probably unrelated to gcc4.1 and I think that was happening before the switch. However kde compile nicely against it and I can open and view exr images in kuickshow. (I am the original forum poster)
I have two other packages which don't work with gcc-4 and where we don't have any working version in the tree: - app-accessibility/speech-tools - app-accessibility/festival It looks like, that we have to take out the ppc-keywords from these packages and mask the accessibility-use-flag on ppc.
Add =media-gfx/transfig-3.2.4-r2 and =media-gfx/xfig-3.2.4-r2 Already done in CVS.
=net-analyzer/nettop-0.2.3 fails and there is no newer version available.
=net-analyzer/nettop-0.2.3 has been patched by dragonheart. It's still stable.
I have three other packages for which I have to move to ~ppc to get them compiled: - dev-lang/ruby (header conflict with glibc 2.4) - media-lib/openexr - dev-util/kdevelop
Anybody mind if I throw amd64/x86 on CC, since they're also building with 4.1.1 for the release?
(In reply to comment #12) > Anybody mind if I throw amd64/x86 on CC, since they're also building with 4.1.1 > for the release? No objections, move on :)
Maybe a stabilisation request per package is better for this, transfig and xfig are handled by bug #140903 and bug #140904 Some may loose the overview about which package is stabled, and which not. Add bug #140707 as a OtherBugsThisDependsOn
Ok, thanks for collecting these packages, I extracted the needed information for x86 and open separate bugs for stabilisation of openexr and xdelta (did not test the kst, kword and kspread). Because it is hard to keep track of things to do, this "tracker" should be closed in favour of one bug per package. I will do that in one week if noone intervenes (a loud "No, you jerk!" is enough to stop me, but explanations would be nice).
Ok, all packages have been merged from here to separate stabilisation bugs.
