Description Eduard Martinescu 2006-06-14 07:07:39 UTC
If you emerge dovecot with -ipv6 in your use flags, it fails to start with the following errors:
Error: socket() failed: Address family not supported by protocol
Fatal: listen(993) failed: Address family not supported by protocol

Turning ipv6 back on fixes the problem.

Comment 1 Eduard Martinescu 2006-06-14 07:08:42 UTC
I forgot to add, it worked fine with -ipv6 in beta 8 and beta8-r1
Comment 2 Roy Marples (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-14 08:37:26 UTC
Set ssl_listen = * in /etc/dovecot.conf

Upstream is aware of the issue
However, I've fixed the ebuild so that it makes this change in the config file for you.
