Ethereal's maintainer and dev team moved and lost rights to the name. Its new name is Wireshark. www.wireshark.org
Netmon, any opinion on this? I'm in favor of adding it as net-analyzer/wireshark.
sounds good. and do a package move after the next vulnerability comes out (shouldn't be too long) and it becomes stable. IMHO
Working on this for sunrise.
Created attachment 90481 [details] wireshark-0.99.1_pre1.ebuild New ebuild for wireshark
Created attachment 90482 [details, diff] wireshark-0.99.1_pre1-as-needed.patch Reworked patch from the older version of this package.
This is now in the sunrise overlay. You can find it at: http://gentoo-sunrise.org/svn/reviewed/net-analyzer/wireshark
Imported to CVS, thanks for providing the patch and the ebuild
alpha, amd64, ia64, ppc, ppc64: since you have keywords in net-analyzer/ethereal, you might want to test and keyword net-analyzer/wireshark.
marked ~ppc
~amd64
I'm thinking we can add the remaining keywords as its derived from the same codebase as ethereal. It's really no different to a version bump. Objections?
(In reply to comment #11) > I'm thinking we can add the remaining keywords as its derived from the same > codebase as ethereal. It's really no different to a version bump. Objections? If it was just a change of name and it's a common version bump, please do. Of course, we are talking about ~arch keywords, aren't we? alpha won't put any objections to this. Thanks.
(~alpha ~ia64 ~ppc64) added to make keywords compatible with last ethereal version. > If it was just a change of name and it's a common version bump, Yes > please do. Done. > Of > course, we are talking about ~arch keywords, aren't we? Definately. > alpha won't put any objections to this. Thanks. > And if anyone else does, sorry and you know where to remove the keywords from.
