Description Paulo J. Matos 2006-06-11 06:46:04 UTC
While trying to compile meld 1.1.3, I get:
 *
 * Meld requires pygtk to be built with the gnome use flag set.
 * Please re-emerge pygtk with the gnome use flag set.
 *

!!! ERROR: dev-util/meld-1.1.3 failed.

Problem is:
# emerge -pv pygtk

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] dev-python/pygtk-2.8.6 USE="opengl -doc" 739 kB

uses no gnome use flag.

Same problem here. It would be nice to see it solved or at least a known workaround.

I just tried this here, and it worked fine:

There's a < check in meld. Which version of portage do you guys have? (hint: emerge info in bug reports...)
Comment 3 Paulo J. Matos 2006-07-03 11:19:22 UTC
My guess is that you emerged meld with prior version of pygtk (which add the gnome use flag) and afterwards updated pygtk...

Still, here's emerge --info:

Comment 4 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 11:29:40 UTC
No, I just emerged meld with the versions specified.

I have a newer version of portage, so my guess is that's it. However, allanonjl is going to fix this a different way.
Comment 5 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 11:34:06 UTC
i moved the version specific part of the test into a has_version, so this problem should be fixed now.
Comment 6 Paulo J. Matos 2006-07-03 13:15:37 UTC
Fixed here!
