Description Hans Nieser 2006-06-05 20:43:35 UTC
emerge tries to download the distfile '/usr/portage/distfiles/cdrtools-2.01.01a10.tar.bz2' and (appears to) succeed, but then says "!!! Couldn't download cdrtools-2.01.01a10.tar.bz2. Aborting.". Deleting the distfile and trying again has the same result. Leaving the distfile there and trying again makes emerge try to resume the file dispite it already being downloaded fully:

recreating the digest manually will get it to use the tarball its already download and build successfully... so cd to /usr/portage/app-cdr/cdrtools/files dir then do ebuild ../cdrtools-2.10.01_alpha10,ebuild digest then emerge cdrtools.

Thanks, this fixed it. I incorrectly disregarded the possiblity of this being some kind of digest error because it just said the download itself failed
Comment 4 Chris Slycord 2006-06-05 21:31:21 UTC
The problem is that portage keeps trying to download because it thinks the file is. The file is 1499765 bytes long and portage seems to think it is 1500197.

Even if we fixed that the entries for the MD5 and SHA256 sums for it are different from that for the downloaded file.

And yes, redigesting will fix that. Though, I'd prefer the fix get sent to the tree itself.

+1
Please fix in the tree.
Comment 6 Torsten Veller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-06 02:51:47 UTC
I've package.masked =app-cdr/cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha10 until the new file has been verified.

Please verify the new tarball and remove the mask

Comment 8 Lars Weiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-06 04:18:38 UTC
It wasn't my fault: http://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/cdrecord-developers/2006-June/003066.html

The file has been changed after I downloaded it. I was just one of the 10 early birds who downloaded the first version.

New version verified, commited and package-mask removed.
