Description Rick Warner 2006-06-04 09:54:32 UTC
Fresh install using stage3 i686 2006.0. It's primarily a stable install, with the following in package.keywords to use the latest kde:
>=kde-base/arts-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdebase-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdepim-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdegames-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdeartwork-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdenetwork-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdetoys-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdeutils-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdewebdev-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdeaddons-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdeedu-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kdeadmin-3.5.1 ~x86
>=kde-base/kde-3.5.1 ~x86
>=sys-kernel/ck-sources-2.6.15 ~x86

Doing an emerge kde, kde-base 3.5.2-r1 fails within the kate subdirectory on meinproc with a segmentation fault. Running meinproc through ltrace found the error in libxslt. Libxslt was 1.1.15. Emerging libxslt with ~x86 to get 1.1.16 resolved the problem.

Looks like kde-libs needs a depend on libxslt-1.1.16 instead of 1.1.15. 1.1.15-r1 may fix it too. I saw a patch in that ebuild for a seg fault bug. Since .16 fixed it, I didn't bother trying .15-r1 too though.

I just did an emerge sync (making sure this wasn't already fixed) and found kde 3.5.3 is available now too. It doesn't have a depend on 1.1.16 either, so I'm betting it probably has the same problem. Kdelibs 3.5.3 still requires only 1.1.15 too.

I doubt it's needed for this bug report, but here's my emerge --info in case it's relevant:
