Description Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-26 15:58:29 UTC
Diego, bug #125887 contains all the information you've asked for in bug #134454, including a detailed explanation of why it fails and the autoconf variables that cause the failure. This bug affects at least wget and ntp and has had the culprit identified and a fix offered for over two months. Please read bugs before closing them in the future.
Comment 1 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-01 16:31:41 UTC
restricted.
Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-06-24 23:37:38 UTC
RESTRICT=confcache is not acceptable
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-06-24 23:38:02 UTC
this needs to be root caused, not ignored
Comment 4 Brian Harring (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-26 18:42:09 UTC
all versions have to be restricted, not just the most current.
re: root cause, coreutils sucks, pure and simple (blame their reimplementation of AC_CHECK_FUNCS functionality for caching values incorrectly).
Comment 5 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-29 11:37:50 UTC
I'm closing them as UPSTREAM as for now I can't do much until Brian provides me a new version of confcache that allows to trace who poisoned the cache.
This is also the main reason why confcache is masked right now.
