Description:   Opened: 2006-05-21 05:08 0000
Please mark app-office/lyx-1.4.1-r1 stable and that in turn requires that
dev-tex/dvipost is marked stable.

dvipost has not had an open bug in a long time bus hat not had a stable version
before.

lyx-1.4.1-r1 fixes a lot of issues with the older stable versions (and hence is
more stable than they are).
The only outstanding bugs are known upstream (they are also present in the
current stable versions) and does not affect the majority of lyx users.

stable on amd64

------- Comment #2 From Matthias Langer 2006-05-21 09:26:27 0000 -------
when merging lyx-1.4.1-r1 for testing on x86 i stumbled over bug #130993, as
lyx pulls in sgmltools-lite-3.0.3-r7 as a dependency. so my question is:
shouldn't app-text/sgmltools-lite-3.0.3-r10 be stabled together with
lyx-1.4.1-r1 ?

It is not necessary, but sgmltools-lite-3.0.3-r10 will probably get marked
stable in a couple of days (bug 131053).

there's a trivial typo in src_compile():

...
...
ewarn "instead you have the option of turning GTK support off by removing"
ewarn "the gtk use flag or enable the gt use flag"
:s/\<gt\>/qt

------- Comment #5 From Matthias Langer 2006-05-21 10:25:31 0000 -------
i've now done some testing with lyx-1.4.1-r1 [ -cjk +cups -debug +gnome +gtk
+nls -qt ] on x86 using the gtkmm interface. note, that i've tested the app
with sgmltools-lite-3.0.3-r10. As far as i can tell lyx-1.4.1-r1 seems to be
ok. The only strange thing is that app-text/evince-0.4.0-r3 [ +dbus -debug
-doc +dvi +nautilus -t1lib +tiff ] has serious problems with the pdf files
generated by lyx. But as app-text/gv-3.6.1-r3 displays them out of the box,
this is most likely an evince/poppler bug.

final disclaimer: i've never used lyx (which seems to be a very nice app to me)
before and only verified that the most basic functionality works, so i may have
missed some serious bugs.

ps: if i should give the qt interface a try, let me know.
