Description:   Opened: 2006-05-19 12:33 0000
While gkrellsun-0.9.1 compiles and works OK, version 0.12 will not compile on
GCC-4. From what I understand, this is a coding problem that should be fixed
upstream. Maybe someone can hack up a patch?

On x86 with gcc-4.1.1:

I use gkrellsun-1.0.0 in a local overlay. It compiles but when I look at
gkrellm (Configuration->Plugins->Installation protocol) it shows this:

/usr/lib/gkrellm2/plugins/gkrellsun.so
        Fehler: /usr/lib/gkrellm2/plugins/gkrellsun.so: undefined symbol:

Completely unrelated. See Bug 134096.

------- Comment #6 From Víctor Enríquez 2006-08-04 12:24:37 0000 -------
Dont know how to make a diff patch but i think the problem is solved if you
change:

line 236: time_struc = gmtime((time_t)&CurrentGMTTime);
line 261: time_struc = localtime((time_t)&CurrentGMTTime);

But i can be wrong... cause i think is not the same doing:
function(&(casting)var) and doing function((casting)&var)? test please, im
testing it now, and make a patch if you know how.

Included the modified file, simple copy it in src20 in the work location after
ebuild gkrellsun-0.12.2.ebuild unpack and then ebuild gkrellsun-0.12.2.ebuild
compile and finally ebuild gkrellsun-0.12.2.ebuild install. Restart gkrellm and
test.It would be better to use epatch but dont know how to do the patch sorry.

------- Comment #7 From Jakub Moc (RETIRED) 2006-10-15 17:25:11 0000 -------
@ia64, ppc - this shouldn't be stable, as it doesn't compile, while the
previous version does.

------- Comment #8 From Joe Jezak 2006-11-12 22:09:49 0000 -------
Eh, ppc marked this stable in 2004, it probably worked then. :) Should we be
marking 1.0.0 stable now?

------- Comment #9 From Jakub Moc (RETIRED) 2006-11-13 00:05:15 0000 -------
(In reply to comment #7)
> Eh, ppc marked this stable in 2004, it probably worked then. :) Should we be
> marking 1.0.0 stable now?

As long as it compiles w/ gcc-4* it should still be better than current
situation... :)

We also need a slotmove here, see Bug 121016. This package is is not slotable
and was never supposed to get slotted in the first place. 0.12* seems to have
another regression mentioned in the other bug, so please make sure it's gone in
1.0.0

Thanks!

Sun shining on ppc for 1.0.0
jakub: if ya feel like it, add other arches, the thing seems quite stable
(would be SOLVED by alpha stableing).

Sounds like a good idea... and we need to keep arches busy :)
