Description Lindsay Haisley 2006-05-16 09:02:04 UTC
When creating a new account where the server type is "Maildir-format mail directories", the browse dialog to chose the top level directory for the Maildir directory heirarchy presents an "Open" button. Clicking this button with a directory selected should close the dialog and return the full path to the directory to the parent dialog needing the information. Instead, pressing "Open" simply opens the directory and moves the browse window down into the Maildir heirarchy. I would guess that the browse dialog is programmed to return a file, whereas with Maildirs, the required value in the Path field is a directory.
Comment 1 Lindsay Haisley 2006-05-16 09:05:46 UTC
The full path to the top of the required Maildir structure can be manually entered into the "Path" text entry field, so this isn't a show-stopper, but the browse dialog in this case is useful only for providing information for manual entry and not for actually selecting a directory.

This bug is also reproduced in 2.8.x, was reported UPSTREAM (see URL) but still is not fixed.

Backported patches from UPSTREAM svn to fix this issue. Works here.

I'd like to apply them, but the only question I have is: patch in evolution depends on functionality from patch for e-d-s. Can I add explicit dependency on 1.10.2-r1 into evolution? What gnome team think?
Comment 6 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-20 19:39:43 UTC
Certainly not for evo 2.8. For evo 2.10, sure.
