There are also patches for kde kopete: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126862 I am waiting with unmasking till the apps support 0.9.1 in their releases. You can unmask it locally though if you need it.

It works with Psi (Psi <-> Google Talk), I don't use Kopete, so I can't (don't want to) test. :)
