Description:   Opened: 2006-04-29 07:03 0000
paramiko-1.5.4 failes to install.
I tried to install paramiko-1.5.2, and it does not fail.
The message "Checking .pth file support" (see below) is new to 1.5.4,
and /var/tmp/portage/paramiko-1.5.4/image/usr does not seem to exist.

The error:

>>> Install paramiko-1.5.4 into /var/tmp/portage/paramiko-1.5.4/image/ category dev-python
running install
Checking .pth file support in
/var/tmp/portage/paramiko-1.5.4/image/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/
error: can't create or remove files in install directory

The following error occurred while trying to add or remove files in the
installation directory:

[Errno 2] No such file or directory:
'/var/tmp/portage/paramiko-1.5.4/image/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/test-easy-install-30696.pth'

The installation directory you specified (via --install-dir, --prefix, or
the distutils default setting) was:

    /var/tmp/portage/paramiko-1.5.4/image/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/

This directory does not currently exist. Please create it and try again, or
choose a different installation directory (using the -d or --install-dir
option).

------- Comment #1 From Marien Zwart (RETIRED) 2006-04-29 10:00:37 0000 -------
Just committed 1.5.4-r1 which disables setuptools, which should fix this.
Closing, reopen if 1.5.4-r1 does not fix this for you.

------- Comment #2 From MATSUI Tetsushi 2006-04-29 20:20:55 0000 -------
Thank you. It works fine.
