KSim does not show up in the Add New Panel menu, as it should, on kicker. I don't know when this happened, and I've tried recompiling, which completes successfully, but still no sign of KSim. I've also run kbuildsyscocoa, but no luck.
Found the problem. $KDEDIR/share/apps/kicker/extensions/ksim.desktop has the line Hidden=True Can this be patched either by Gentoo devs or upstream, as it seems a pretty stupid default.
I have added a sed statement to the kde-base/sim as a temporary measure, but please file a bug upstream.
I can't see myself, but from http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=3358715#3358715 it looks like this has just been done for the meta package and not the main package?
Yes, missed it. Please don't forget to report at https://bugs.kde.org, if you haven't done so already. Thanks.
You forgot to update the Manifest file. >>> Emerging (1 of 14) kde-base/kdeutils-3.5.2 to / >>> checking ebuild checksums !!! Digest verification failed: !!! /usr/portage/kde-base/kdeutils/kdeutils-3.5.3.ebuild !!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size !!! Got: 1213 !!! Expected: 1215
