Description Dirk Schoenberger 2006-04-25 13:35:31 UTC
While trying to emerge pngcrush 1.6.2 I ran into the following problem

>>> Compiling source in /var/tmp/portage/pngcrush-1.6.2/work/pngcrush-1.6.2 ...
/usr/libexec/gcc/darwin/ppc/as: I don't understand '-' flag!
Apple Computer, Inc. version cctools-590.obj~12, GNU assembler version 1.38

After that, the program hangs, assumedly input from a console is expected.

My emerge info

!!! Relying on the shell to locate gcc, this may break
!!! DISTCC, installing gcc-config and setting your current gcc
!!! profile will fix this

I checked in a patch to let as read from /dev/nulll which shuts it up. Looks like it works fine. Please reopen if pngcrush doesn't work.

Thanks!
