I'll take the patch from the upstream bug as soon as some texmacs dev says that the patch is good enough.

It'd be nice to have it fixed soon :) I guess your are right, gcc-4.1.1 going in ~arch and all :) Anyway it is fixed now (in 1.0.6-r1)... but it does not seem like upstream think very much of gcc-4 since their newest versions 1.6.0.{1,2} introduces at least one additional problem with gcc-4. But at least the version in the tree works :)
