1) The ebuild depends on gtk 1.2.x. In my strictly KDE/QT system it wouldn't
build because this dependency wasn't listed. After adding gtk it worked. 2)
The ebuild creates /etc/sysconfig containing an 'irda' config file which is not
used to define the service parameters. The /etc/conf.d/irda config file is used
instead. The ebuild also creates a network-scripts directory containing another
config file the purpose of which I do not know. I doubt that it ever gets used
since as far as I can tell gentoo never looks in /etc/sysconfig. It seems that
the /etc/sysconfig directory is a leftover from the original redhattish build
and should be removed, moving whatever is useful to a place where gentoo will
find it. Ciao, Giovanni

Can you try the 0.9.15 ebuild of irda-utils? This version doesn't install the
/etc/sysconfig stuff. I am investigating the gtk issue. I don't see any
dependence on gtk in the build process, but there is a glib dependence. Is that
what you mean?

Okay. I just had someone build 0.9.15 on a system with no gtk, so I think that
glib was the problem. I have updated the ebuild. Thanks for the bug report.
