Description:   Opened: 2006-04-12 12:23 0000
When applications are launched from the command line in gnome 2.14, metacity
puts the new windows below the terminal from which they were launched. This is
amazingly annoying behaviour - often making new windows completely invisible
and requiring some effort in finding them. There is a patch that should fix
this behaviour at:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326159
and apparently this is being considered for inclusion in 2.14.1:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/release-team/2006-April/msg00019.html

I would suggest this patch be included in a 2.14.0-r1

------- Comment #1 From Johan Martinsson 2006-04-19 01:07:18 0000 -------
This is fixed in metacity 2.14.3, so now we just need a version bump in
portage...
Copying the 2.14.2 ebuild works perfectly.

------- Comment #2 From foser (RETIRED) 2006-04-19 03:53:21 0000 -------
I think the patch should go in 2.14.0 version as well, it's a rather big change
of behaviour.

------- Comment #3 From John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) 2006-04-20 16:15:07 0000 -------
2.14.3 now in portage.

thanks.
