All: Please stablize xfce4-4.2.3.2 and all related ebuilds. I'll be taking care of ppc and ppc64 but I'm leaving them on the CC list so I don' forget. Thanks.

Daniel, Would you mind to provide us a full list of packages related to this xfce version which need to be marked as stable? Only are the direct ebuild dependencies? Do we need to mark xfce4-extra too? Any other ebuild? I wouldn't like to forget any ;) Thanks.

Do we need to mark xfce4-extra too? Any other ebuild? How about: # cd gentoo-x86/xfce-base # ekeyword <yourarch> xfce4-4.2.3.2.ebuild # repoman full [insert list of bad (r)depend's here] One exception to this list appears to be xfce-base/xfce4-extras, so take care to mark that too. On another note... hppa done! ;-)
Make that: > # cd gentoo-x86/xfce-base/xfce4 > # ekeyword <yourarch> xfce4-4.2.3.2.ebuild > # repoman full Sorry for the bugspam. 8-)
sparc stable.
removing ppc and ppc64 from cc because dostrow marked them stable as he said he would
x86 done
This xfce4 version seems to work pretty well on alpha. The only detail I want to see fixed (or explained if i'm wrong) is related to the package xfce4-toys and to be exact with xfce4-tips app. Seems like we are missing a RDEPEND on xfce4-toys package. xfce4-tips works with fortune-mod, otherwise you'll see a nice warning on your terminal "sh: fortune: command not found" and the tip window will be empty. I've checked it with our Debian friends[1] and the dep exists there. Please Daniel, if this is true, fix all xfce4-toys ebuilds. [1] http://packages.debian.org/unstable/x11/xfce4-toys
attempting to keyword xfce4 for amd64, but repoman hates you. usage.obsolete 2 xfce-base/libxfce4util/libxfce4util-4.2.1.ebuild: not migrated to modular X xfce-base/libxfce4util/libxfce4util-4.2.2.ebuild: not migrated to modular X on every xfce* package that I try
(In reply to comment #8) you are 100% correct, I'll add the dep... Thanks

I must complain that ~xfce-base/xfce-mcs-manager-4.2.3 is not keyworded as stable and it causes a failure in emerge world (since the package requesting it _is_ stable): Calculating world dependencies | !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "~xfce-base/xfce-mcs-manager-4.2.3" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - xfce-base/xfce-mcs-manager-4.2.3 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword) For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. !!! (dependency required by "xfce-base/xfce-mcs-plugins-4.2.3" [ebuild]) Btw, this kind of error (stable package requiring unstable one) is one that I've seen multiple times - couldn't a check be added to (say) repoman?
Mike Doty, please look at the comment I posted while you weren't CC'ed (I missed that you removed yourself). There's still one package to keyword.
(In reply to comment #10) > (In reply to comment #8) > you are 100% correct, I'll add the dep... I don't see fortune-mod in the RDEPEND of any xfce4-toys ebuilds yet. Please add it when you have a chance so that we can stablize on alpha.
http://www.xfce.org/archive/xfce-4.2.3.2/src/ gtk-engines-xfce-2.2.8 belongs to xfce-4.2.3.2 but isn't yet marked stable for any arches I think this also solves bug #133278
(In reply to comment #10) > (In reply to comment #8) > you are 100% correct, I'll add the dep... > > Thanks Please, add it ASAP so we can mark xfce4-4.2.3.2 stable on alpha. Also consider comment 15, and if we had to mark gtk-engines-xfce too, leave a note on the bug. Thanks.
Alpha stabled some time ago, closing.
