dev-util/valgrind-2.4.0 depends on virtual/x11 and therefore does not work
with modular X. So please stabilize 2.4.1 or higher.

------- Comment #1 From Maurice van der Pot 2006-04-08 12:51:18 0000 -------
x86 arch team, none of valgrind's versions is perfect, but to choose the ones
with the least problems, I'd go for either 3.0.1-r1 or 3.1.0.

Some problems in 3.0.1-r1 have been fixed in 3.1.0 as the changelog shows.
3.1.0 and higher on the other hand currently have open bug #128684.
However, it could well be that 3.0.1-r1 suffers from the same problem.

What is your opinion in the matter? Which version would you prefer to
stabilize?

------- Comment #2 From Erik 2006-04-08 13:06:42 0000 -------
The version I have is 3.1.1 and it starts, so it does not have bug #128684 (for
me).

------- Comment #3 From Joshua Jackson 2006-04-10 21:57:19 0000 -------
3.1.1 doesn't seem to suffer from the issue, so its been marked stable, I
actually got return data from multiple programs.

------- Comment #4 From Maurice van der Pot 2006-04-11 00:05:10 0000 -------
3.1.1 for certain also shows this problem. It's just not a problem that occurs
in all configurations.

The reason I did not recommend this version is that it has only been in the
tree
for a short while.

But never mind, let's see how this works out.
