Description SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-04-03 09:27:15 UTC
the qt-4.1.2 ebuild left me with an env.d entry that contained:
PATH=/usr/bin
ROOPATH=/usr/bin

these are clearly invalid, plz2cut, thanks

Well, they're necessary in order to guarantee that /usr/bin has precedence over QTDIR/bin during mixed qt3/qt4 installs.

If you can guarantee to me that /usr/bin will always be set before any of the files in /etc/env.d will be sourced then I'm find with it. Though I don't really see how it's causing much of a problem to ensure that this way.

if you read /etc/profile you'll see that the standard paths always come before paths from /etc/env.d/

so unless the user did it, /usr/bin will never after a path injected by some qt ebuild

I saw that, but that doesn't mean it won't change sometime in the future..

Anyway, I'll fix per your request because I agree with your intent.
