I type: emerge gngeo I get: cc1: error: invalid option `tune=i686' I tried: Deleting the unpacked folder in /var/tmp/portage and remerging it. I do not have any tune/mtune option set in my make.conf file. Finally, I checked the Makefile for gngeo and found nothing about tune/mtune in there. ------------------------------------------ Turning on x86 processor optimisations configure: creating ./config.status config.status: creating Makefile config.status: creating src/Makefile config.status: creating src/raze/Makefile config.status: creating src/star/Makefile config.status: creating src/mamez80/Makefile config.status: creating src/generator68k/Makefile config.status: creating src/cyclone/Makefile config.status: creating src/drz80/Makefile config.status: creating src/effect/Makefile config.status: creating src/blitter/Makefile config.status: creating src/ym2610/Makefile config.status: creating src/gui/Makefile config.status: creating data/Makefile config.status: creating config.h config.status: config.h is unchanged config.status: executing default-1 commands make all-recursive make[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/gngeo-0.6.10/work/gngeo-0.6.10' Making all in src make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/gngeo-0.6.10/work/gngeo-0.6.10/src' Making all in effect make[3]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/gngeo-0.6.10/work/gngeo-0.6.10/src/effect' i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -DI386_ASM -DUSE_STARSCREAM -DUSE_RAZE -O3 -fstrength-reduce -frerun-loop-opt -Wall -Wno-unused -funroll-loops -ffast-math -falign-functions=2 -falign-jumps=2 -fexpensive-optimizations -falign-loops=2 -fschedule-insns2 -malign-double -fomit-frame-pointer -g -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -mtune=i686 -DCPU=i686 -c sai.c i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -DI386_ASM -DUSE_STARSCREAM -DUSE_RAZE -O3 -fstrength-reduce -frerun-loop-opt -Wall -Wno-unused -funroll-loops -ffast-math -falign-functions=2 -falign-jumps=2 -fexpensive-optimizations -falign-loops=2 -fschedule-insns2 -malign-double -fomit-frame-pointer -g -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -mtune=i686 -DCPU=i686 -c scale2x.c i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -DI386_ASM -DUSE_STARSCREAM -DUSE_RAZE -O3 -fstrength-reduce -frerun-loop-opt -Wall -Wno-unused -funroll-loops -ffast-math -falign-functions=2 -falign-jumps=2 -fexpensive-optimizations -falign-loops=2 -fschedule-insns2 -malign-double -fomit-frame-pointer -g -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -mtune=i686 -DCPU=i686 -c scanline.c cc1: error: invalid option `tune=i686' cc1: error: invalid option `tune=i686' make[3]: *** [sai.o] Error 1 make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... make[3]: *** [scale2x.o] Error 1 cc1: error: invalid option `tune=i686' make[3]: *** [scanline.o] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/gngeo-0.6.10/work/gngeo-0.6.10/src/effect' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/gngeo-0.6.10/work/gngeo-0.6.10/src' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/gngeo-0.6.10/work/gngeo-0.6.10' make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 !!! You just need to switch to GCC 3.4 http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gcc-upgrading.xml
Well, we should force that dep if it's needed. Fixed in CVS. Thanks for the bug report.
