Description Stefaan De Roeck (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-30 01:00:31 UTC
net-fs/openafs-kernel-1.4.0 doesn't build with linux-2.6.16. Therefore net-fs/openafs-kernel-1.4.0-r1 was introduced, which equals the previous version + the attached patch with bug #127084 applied.

2.6.16 is planned to go stable in 2 weeks, it would be nice if this ebuild could be marked stable before that.
Comment 1 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-17 12:04:24 UTC
stable on ppc64
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-19 12:50:02 UTC
OK... I should get to this one shortly...
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-22 18:57:57 UTC
Since it's just a patch, I'm marking this one stable. The module builds and loads in my 2.6.16 kernel.
Comment 4 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-05 02:40:52 UTC
ia64 is done, closing the bug
Comment 5 Helmut Jarausch 2006-09-14 23:47:22 UTC
The patch seems not to be sufficient for 2.6.17-gentoo-r8,

Comment 6 Stefaan De Roeck (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-15 01:06:03 UTC
Could you try a more recent version (1.4.1, 1.4.2-fc3 is too recent to be considered for stabilization now, so only try if 1.4.1 fails) and report back on that?
Comment 7 Helmut Jarausch 2006-09-15 03:46:16 UTC
1.4.1 builds just fine with 2.6.17-gentoo-r8
Many thanks.
Comment 8 Stefaan De Roeck (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-15 04:08:05 UTC
If you'd like to have 1.4.1 in stable, you can create a bug report similar to this one to request that.
