I had to remove gstreamer 0.8 and ebuild again evolution to make it link against gstreamer 0.10.
Could someone review the legitimacy of this bug as a 2.14 blocker? Not only is there precious little info about how this user emerged the ~x86 Evolution, but the following is from an Evolution dev I asked about it. "Sounds like bullshit to me. There is one plugin only, that depends on gstreamer. That plugin is NOT ported to gstreamer 0.10 yet. Thus, it is DISABLED in the default build. So it totally strikes me, how that guy built Evo against gstreamer 0.10 at all..." So, not too sure what happened here, but requesting at least it be removed from the blockers for bug 119872 for now.
This is a gentoo ebuild issue, not a evo dev issue. The evo ebuild does depends on gstreamer 0.10, but the audio_inline plugin does depend on gstreamer 0.8 only. This would be the first thing to remove from the ebuild: gstreamer dependency and audio_inline plugin build. If you have on your system both gstreamers and a gnome 2.14, you will have evo depend on gstreamer 0.8 which you cannot configure through the gnome interface since it will use only the gstreamer 0.10
thanks for researching this! in cvs.
