Thanks for submitting it! :-) Unfortunately I get this:

** (process:23666): WARNING **: Failed to open connection to bus: Unable to determine the address of the message bus

:-(

The other thing I don't understand is why this ebuild has so little dependecies, while the other one http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=3214056 has loads...

You don't have D-BUS *session* daemon started.

Yes, this ebuild alone is useless.

Nevertheless, I couldn't get it working even with Ycarus' ebuilds.
Comment 4 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-20 13:51:10 UTC
I added the sofia-sip ebuild, today.
From the zugaina overlay, more ebuilds are needed:
dev-libs/libjingle-tapioca-svn
dev-libs/farsight-darcs
media-plugins/gst-plugins-farsight
net-im/tapioca-coreclien
net-im/tapioca-xmpp
net-im/tapiocaui
net-im/tapioca
will look into adding them
I am currently idling in #tapioca-voip
Comment 5 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-21 07:45:18 UTC
OK, I just added those four:

dev-libs/jrtplib
dev-libs/jthread
media-plugins/gst-plugins-farsight
net-libs/libjingle

some progress :)
Comment 6 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-21 17:20:30 UTC
ok, all ready.

I added
media-libs/libmimic
media-libs/libj2k
+ yahoo and msn useflag in media-plugins/gst-plugins-farsight

media-libs/farsight
net-im/tapiocad
net-im/tapioca-xmpp
net-im/tapiocaui

you should be able to just type "emerge tapiocaui"

Thank you all especially Leo for his ebuild here and ycarus for the ebuilds in his overlay!
Comment 7 Luká Polívka 2006-05-23 04:43:04 UTC
Why is Tapioca's custom patched libjingle named net-libs/libjingle and not for example libjingle-tapioca?

There are also patches to compile libjingle with ortp-0.9.1 (already in Portage)
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1483115&group_id=155094&atid=794430
Comment 8 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-23 04:50:31 UTC
Because the original libjingle is not meant to be installed as a shared library - it is meant to be statically linked in the application and thus it makes no sense to have an ebuild for it.
As for ortp-0.9.1. I will not unmask it before kde kopete supports it, and it does not make sense currently because every unpatched libjingle-application only works with 0.7.1.
kopete bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126862#c16
I think gaim-vv and psi-jingle also need the 0.7.1 version.

Please do not talk on this bug, it is RESOLVED
Ask me in IRC or private mail if you have more questions, thanks
Comment 9 Tobias Kral 2006-06-13 02:58:15 UTC
New version is out: Tapioca 0.3.9
Comment 10 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-13 05:30:45 UTC
Please do not discuss on this bug, it is resolved, fixed and now even closed.
Have a look at the tree, the new version was even there before you asked :)
