calc-2.02f runs fine on AMD64.
Please consider adding ~amd64 keyword.

amd64: ping

After emerging the package add
  (load "/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-gentoo")

to your ~/.emacs file, start up Emacs and press <Alt> (=Meta) plus "x".  Enter
"calc" (without quotes) and hit return.  "?" gives you help.
