backup-manager is backup management script writed in shell script. It support
tarball and also subverion repository and mysql and pipe.

for upload method, it supports scp, ftp, rsync.

It's very useful to person who's lazy for wrting his own backup script - like
me :)

Nice to see this bug, since I was just going to have a look at backup-manager
too.
Attaching a little diff to your ebuild, mainly moving the einfo to pkg_postinst
and adding user-guide.txt depending on 'doc' use flag
Please keep in mind that I don't have commit access to the tree since I'm just
a security dev with low ebuild skills, so this is more a private post :)

Does that mean you "can" be a secondary maintainer, of a package, for instance
because you're a frequent user of it? For the record: I'm not using this
package, neither do I intend to. So taking this package for me means I have no
clue what I'm shipping in.

I haven't used it yet either, but I was going to try it out while looking for
an easy backup solution. So actually I have no clue about it either atm.
About sec maintainership, in case I do turn out to use and/or like it, I
wouldn't mind keeping an eye on it, but I myself have no commit access nor did
I really write ebuilds up to now. Although I wouldn't mind taking the quizzes
etc some day I guess.

I think I'll have a look at the package and get back to you if you don't mind.

bzip2 path fix

------- Comment #8 From Aleksei Gusev 2006-03-30 05:39:42 0000 -------
I use this tool for backuping on my gentoo servers. Thank you for this ebuild!

Ebuild works OK, but there are some errors in working backup-manager itselft on
gentoo system. I have created two patch, which resolved these problems: first
is in execution of backup-manager-upload and sesond is wrong path to the bzip2.

Please take a look at this patches and include if it makes sense.

Backup bugs for evaluation by app-backup team.

------- Comment #10 From Lisa Seelye (RETIRED) 2006-06-02 05:42:17 0000 -------
In the future when there are changes to the submitted ebuild please mark the
old one obsolte and upload a new ebuild. It saves time for the devs so we don't
have to download two things and run patch.

Please also submit diffs as unified diffs (pass -u to diff), e.g., attachment
83428 [edit].
