The ebuild itself looks not too bad, but it appears that the app also depends
on dev-python/imaging, and I believe that both this and the optional rar
dependency should be in RDEPEND and not DEPEND, as they are not needed at
"compile time".

Are there any other dependencies that you may have missed (besides the ROX
ones, as these are taken care of already by 'inherit rox')?

Also, I'm curious about the optional rar support. Should the program offer to
register for all three application/x-cb? types if there's no rar support in the
system?

Okay, your silence has prevailed. I'm adding this as ~x86 even though I have
no way to really test it:

rox-extra/comicthumb-0.1

If you (or anyone else out there) has one of these archives I can test, I would
appreciate it.

well... it's actually just an archive file with changed extension :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comic_Book_Archive_file

so .. just download some free comics from (for example)
http://www.flashbackuniverse.com/downloads.aspx
and save with "cbr" extension

Excellent, thanks! I'll keep that in mind when it comes down to arch testing
too.
