# eix madwifi-driver
* net-wireless/madwifi-driver
     Available versions: 0.1_pre20050420-r1 0.1401.20060117 0.1420.20060201
0.1440.20060206 0.1443.20060207
     Installed: 0.1_pre20050420-r1
     Homepage: http://madwifi.sourceforge.net/
Description: Wireless driver for Atheros chipset a/b/g cards

0.1_pre20050420-r1 is the only ebuild that is of the madwifi driver now deemed
"madwifi-old" ... all the others are ebuilds based on madwifi-ng.

madwifi-old is useful to have around for people who use this driver and still
want to use kismet ... as kismet chokes hard on the madwifi-ng driver.

It would be nice to put the old branch into a new ebuild so it doesn't get
pushed into oblivion for those of us who find it of use. It also makes it
alot easier to find the version of the driver one wants.

I plan to seperare the current mess of mixing the two branching in one package
into two (or four, actually) ebuilds as soon as I get back home (2 weeks or
so).

Done.

You can now choose between net-wireless/madwifi-old +
net-wireless/madwifi-old-tools and net-wireless/madwifi-ng +
net-wireless/madwifi-ng-tools.

Hope this helps.
