x11-libs/xosd-2.0.1 seems to miss a dependency on gdk-pixbuf. The ebuild fails
with the 
attached error.

Could you paste the whole build process, including the configure part, and
output 
from "emerge -s gdk-pixbuf"

Fixed in 2.0.1-r1 ebuild. Thanks for finding this! 
You will have to have use flag xmms enabled to install the xmms plugin.
