Description:   Opened: 2006-03-05 16:21 0000
The following error occurs when emerging x11-libs/openmotif-2.2.3-r9. Editing
the ebulid to rename the patch only causes the
"openmotif-2.2.3-CAN-2004-0914-newer.patch.bz2" patch to fail which isn't even
present in the tarball. Not sure if it can be safely commented out, but either
way there's two issues concerning the ebuild's patches. Emerge info at the
bottom.

Same error here to (x86/2006.0);
Dto. similarly even with earlier ebuilds (-r8) that had worked before:
-- unzipped *.patch vs. *.patch.bz
-- missing "...newer..."

------- Comment #3 From Manfred Knick 2006-03-06 08:06:11 0000 -------
(In reply to comment #2)
P.S.:
The bzip-problem isn't really a stopper - ( ebuild <...> digest is a
friend ;) -
but unfortunately I was also not successful to find this "...newer..." patch
anywhere on the net.

------- Comment #4 From Manfred Knick 2006-03-06 08:44:00 0000 -------
(In reply to comment #3)

Finally I was successful to find the missing "...newer..." patch at

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/sourcemage/codex/test/x11-toolkits/openmotif/patches/openmotif-2.2.3-CAN-2004-0914-newer.patch.bz2

o) Download it
o) copy it to /usr/portage/x11-libs/openmotif/files
o) bzip -d the *.patch.bz2
o) run "ebuild openmotif-2.2.3-r9.ebuild digest"
o) emerge =openmotif-2.2.3-r9

o) and ENJOY ! ;)

oops - sorry - I forgot to mention:

> o) Download it
> o) copy it to /usr/portage/x11-libs/openmotif/files
> o) bzip -d the *.patch.bz2
  o) remove the corresponding ".bz2" in the openmotif-2.2.3-r9.ebuild itself
<<< !!!
> o) run "ebuild openmotif-2.2.3-r9.ebuild digest"
> o) emerge =openmotif-2.2.3-r9
>

>

P.S.: My compile has finished successfully:
>>> x11-libs/openmotif-2.2.3-r9 merged.  :D

------- Comment #7 From Simon Stelling (RETIRED) 2006-03-06 12:32:08 0000 -------
okay, this sucks. I did some cleanups recently and apparently CVS just sucked
up all my ebuild/Changelog changes and only committed the cvs rms, leaving
everything broken. but then it somehow even deleted my versions of the ebuilds
so that i ended up fixing everything *again*. *grrrr*. anyway, it should be
finally fixed now, sorry for the inconvenience :((
