------- Comment #1 From UncleOwen 2006-02-26 05:04:13 0000 -------
CVS ebuilds are supposed to be masked.

------- Comment #2 From Jakub Moc 2006-02-26 05:16:22 0000 -------
CVS ebuilds aren't stable. Read the changelog.

------- Comment #3 From Harald van Dijk 2006-02-26 05:43:36 0000 -------
Eh? According to the Changelog entry, as well as the last comment in the bug it
references (#83136), emacs-cvs was supposed to remain available for ~arch.

------- Comment #4 From Graham Murray 2006-02-26 05:45:35 0000 -------
Accepted that CVS ebuilds should not be marked 'stable', but I am running ~x86
and emacs-cvs-22.0.50-r1 is keyworded '-*' and emacs-cvs-23.0.0 (which is
package masked) is from a different (experimental) branch. This leaves NO
ebuild at all from the emacs CVS 'head'that will work for any arch. So should
emacs-cvs-22.0.50-r1 not have been keyworded '~arch' before removing 22.0.50?
Or for 22.0.50 to have been keyworded '~arch' rather than being removed if -r1
is not ready (because of waiting for XFT support).

------- Comment #5 From Jakub Moc 2006-02-26 11:36:41 0000 -------
I don't see what's the issue here, emacs-cvs-23.0.0 has been always
package.masked, 22.0.50 has been for some weird reason marked stable (see Bug
83136), which is now fixed. 22.0.50 is -* (not package.masked), since it
contains some experimental non-working stuff.

TBH, all emacs stuff (not only -cvs) should be just package.masked until the
SANDBOX_DISABLED in global scope crap goes away from the ebuilds; see Bug 76141
which has been open for over a year without any attention whatsoever from
maintainers' side. :-(

The issue is that, until 22.0.50 was removed there was an ebuild for the emacs
CVS trunk. Now that this has been removed, there is no ebuild either package
masked or ~arch for the CVS trunk. Had 2.0.50 been keyworded ~arch instead of
being removed then there would have been no problem.

------- Comment #7 From Matthew Kennedy (RETIRED) 2006-02-26 12:41:53 0000 -------
Sorry about that. I'm adding back the ~arch version.

------- Comment #8 From Matthew Kennedy (RETIRED) 2006-02-26 13:51:54 0000 -------
Added them back. Between the QA issue, support for XFT, new work towards
supporting find-function-C-source and an ISP outage, I erroneously committed
the new ebuild with -* instead of the ~arch keywords. Sorry about the
confusion.
