Description Oliver Burnett-Hall 2002-12-18 11:10:01 UTC
Here is a ebuild for dev-libs/libiconv-1.8 (the most recent version in portage
is 1.7).

libiconv 1.8 is needed for recent builds of Abiword.

There isn't anything complicated in the ebuild, just a simple patch to make it
stop looking in /usr/lib/ for libiconv.la during 'make install'.

Why is this necessary for the abiword builds? is it not enough with glibc 2.3.x
for abiword? the last time I instated this package a lot of things broke,
mainly things that suddenly needed the --with-libiconv configure flag.

Comment 3 Oliver Burnett-Hall 2002-12-21 08:50:15 UTC
Because I hadn't read the install notes carefully enough :-/

If you pass --without-libiconv to configure then abiword will build happily
without this package, so it isn't needed.

Please close this bug (not sure if it should go to INVALID or WONTFIX so I'm not
doing it myself).
