Description Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2006-02-24 12:01:48 UTC
I'd like to clean up qemu with all the ancient cruft

mark both qemu-user and qemu-softmmu with the qemu metabuild or just what works.
Comment 1 Santiago Gala 2006-02-28 08:29:09 UTC
I got this error compiling 0.80 here:

inconsistent operand constraints in an `asm'

in this line:

    __asm__ __volatile__ ("stwbrx %1,0,%2" : "=m" (*(uint32_t *)ptr) : "r" (v), "r" (ptr));

0.7.2 is building right here.

Any clue?

this night hopefully I'll check the issue, seems different issues are related to different gcc versions...

Wow, that's one heck of a night there ;p. Anyways, any word on the bug or do we need to sit back and hang tight while you deal with more stuff?

I tried to come up with something but got no positive results...

I'll check a cvs snapshot since got requested already

So...what's going on with this? :) Should we just wait until you have another version for us to mark?
Comment 6 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2006-03-28 22:54:11 UTC
if you can come up with a patch for your arch in order to mark it x86, I'm fine
Comment 7 Chris White (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-29 00:08:48 UTC
x86 stable. I didn't get the supposed compiler error at all.

<cpw> ok now then
* cpw gets out the spiritual beads
<cpw> plzdunbreakthxbye
<cpw> alright, that should do it

I got qemu 0.8.0 working for a while using amd64. I am using it nearly everyday at work with windows XP and 2000 as guests.
Comment 9 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-19 12:54:49 UTC
amd64 done. Sorry for the delay.
Comment 10 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-06 09:06:56 UTC
I close this, all arches have stabilised...please beat me if I am wrong.
