there is a new version of alut out there and it would be cool to have it in
portage

Kindly include full ebuild name and version in bug summary and reopen then.
Summaries like "new version" are utterly useless for any search whatsoever.

alut is the ebuild 
you have version 20051024 as of now in the protage tree but version 1.0 was
released on feb 11

I've moved the package from alut to freealut and have added this to portage...
