I have successfully compiled and installed http://iscsitarget.sf.net ver 0.4.13 from sources. I would suggest adding ~amd64 to the keywords (and also upgrade the ebuild from 0.4.12-r1 to 0.4.13) as it does compile on amd64. emerge --info: Portage 2.0.54 (default-linux/amd64/2005.1, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 250 Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/bind /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.osuosl.org/ http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="amd64 apache2 avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bzip2 crypt cups curl eds emboss encode expat foomaticdb fortran gd gif gmp gnome gpm gstreamer gtk2 idn imap imlib jpeg kde ldap libwww lzw lzw-tiff maildir mhash mp3 mpeg mppe-mppc mysql ncurses nls opengl pam pcre pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline samba sasl sdl snmp spell ssl symlink tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev underscores usb userlocales vhosts xv zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
kterm needs modular X love cjk herd please correct kterm dependencies before we keyword it.
wrong bug i need coffee ignore the previous reply please... it fails to compile what kernel version did you test it ? /var/tmp/portage/iscsitarget-0.4.12/work/iscsitarget-0.4.12/kernel/event.c:98: error: too few arguments to function 'netlink_kernel_create' make[1]: *** [/var/tmp/portage/iscsitarget-0.4.12/work/iscsitarget-0.4.12/kernel/event.o] Error 1 make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... make: *** [_module_/var/tmp/portage/iscsitarget-0.4.12/work/iscsitarget-0.4.12/kernel] Error 2 make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.15-gentoo-r1'
I have compiled successfully (iscsitarget ver 0.4.13) on kernel versions 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 and 2.6.15-gentoo-r4. I did not try the 0.4.12 that is in portage because of this note in the mailing list regarding iscsitarget and kernel src versions. http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=9708172&forum_id=40837. Since I see you are also in 2.6.15-r1 this might be the same issue and we need to get iscsitarget ver 0.4.13 in portage before adding the amd64 keyword? I can also send you my kernel config if you think it will help.
yes we need a working iscitarget in portage... i'm going to re-assign to the maintainer so we can work on this before we keyword it.
it's fixed in CVS. Note that you must use 2.6.15 for it, as the iscsitarget folk don't provide nice backwards patches like open-iscsi does.
